Cog bikes "If 6 were 9"

They say: “This puppy’s got even more travel than its pappy: 130mm in front and 6” out back.“
They mean: This stupid mutt can’t decide whether it’s metric or imperial(ist). Bad doggy.
They say: “A 26 x 2.5 is actually 27” in diameter, so that makes it more like a 79er.“
They […]
Rick bending tubes
Rick Hunter has finally got his website active so that us on this side of the Atlantic can admire, and purchase, his wares. I’d love to be able to justify/afford one of his cyclo-cross frames.
Helping to dispelling the myths about acceleration of a 96er (29″ front/26″ rear) compared to a 69er (26″ front/29″ rear) Brant at On-One has weighed in along the same lines as I posted a long long time ago.
From a physics point of view, this theory here would make no odds if it was a 29er […]
MTBR.com has a thread started by the guy who beat Phil to getting round to making a 36er.
Sod it. Why don’t they just go the whole 60″ hog?

Obviously no manoeuvreability issues.
James Huang over at Cycling News has been forced to amend his original 29er v 26er test after all the indoctrinated 29er zealots got all fundamental on his ass. Some of the changes make sense, others don’t.
For instance 29ers can’t get such low gears as 26ers using the 104/64mm bolt circle diamtere popular on […]
I’ve been rather harsh in the past about the handling of Fishers.
Seeing as they are about as responsive as oil tankers on downers I think I was pretty fair.
Looks like someone at Trek finally realised that Genesis 1.0 wasn’t all it was cracked up to be either.
Enter stage left Genesis 2.0.
Not that Gary had time […]
“The two numbers I get asked about most are the least relevant in terms of performance. These are weight and wheelbase. Each is a resultant of several far more important design considerations.”
Dave Yates
The best products are made by people that have a passion for them. Gary Fisher has a passion for 29ers.
After riding a Rig I can only conclude that Gary Fisher really fucking hates singlespeeds and singlespeeders.
Maybe that time I caught him on the final downhill at Mayhem 2003 on my diddy wheels upset him?
Update: Kirsty […]

Actually we‚re lying about the Maverick since some low-life stole it.
A dogs dinner of links to stuff that we have arranged in an apparently random manner, though I assure you it made sense at the time.

New! iPod updating courtesy of iScrobbler.
It doesn't update from the wheels of steel though :-)
Remember kids, vinyl can't carry Digital Rights Management.
in no particular order...
For all that we like the up-to-the minute offerings of the web there‚s nothing like a proper badly photocopied A5 fanzine or a glossily printed proper magazine to keep you occupied on the throne. Here, in no particular order, is our material of choice.
In the UK as we give away our civil liberties in the name of freedom it might be handy to be aware of Photographers Rights.
Don’t let The Man stop you shooting.
If anyone has a full set of NEMBA results (that‚s North of England for you colonial types) then please forward them.
sometimes you just gotta take action, or at least be able to get our hands on the FACTS
