Result!
It appears my words in Issue 17 of The Outcast upset Phaty.
I call that a result, especially as he has completely misunderstood my point about the raping of singlespeeding that was the SSWC 2004.
My favorite part was when he suggested to run SSWC at some blokes local race which made me wonder if the German National Team (30 - 50 people) could have some floor space in Nick’s place.
Well, he’s welcome to bring 50 Germans to my local race, I’m sure we could find somewhere to put them all. Unfortunately this would be an underground event and consequently any country with a National Team - note his use of caps for emphasis - will automatically be disqualified for missing the point.
And as far as I understand he doesn’t like Punkrock - which is okay, way too many people already do.
Apart from displaying the kind of snobbish elitism that singlespeeding needs to get away from he missed the point by a country mile here. I really rather like punkrock though I take a John Peel-esque attitude to it - music has moved on and so should we. Wallowing in punk rock’s past is what I can’t be arsed with. I mean, who really wants to see The Dead Kennedys reform?

Probably would be as none of this shit happens face-to-face. Over the internet people grow 4foot taller and are all agro and say stuff that would have them grovelling for an appology in real life.

That was all nothing but a joke, and if you would know me you would have gotten it right from the beginning. And there is no bloody punkrock clique that I belong to or even want to belong to.
I meet with Chipps tomorrow at Eurobike and we will spent his 10€ from Berlin at the bar and probably have a real good laugh about you … !
Sometimes I wonder if I put stuff wrong as I am a German who learned English in school, but most of the time I ask someone in England if I might be misunderstood. This time I asked Biff he said it is fine.

I’m just enjoying pointing out the inconsistencies in Phaty’s words, and now he’s given me the opportunity his deeds.
I don’t see that I have anything to apologise for pointing out inconsistencies and hypocrisy in what he’s written. For instance his claims about hating punk rock are at odds with his bigging up of punk rock clubs and bands for SSWC 04. See the SSWC 2004 ‘Press” releases and Outcast 12 for instance.
If he’s claiming after the event that what he’s written isn’t what he really meant then he ought to be more careful.
It’s easy to say “Oh, I didn’t mean that” when actually you did but are being forced to backtrack.
