RIP Alps 4R
| Alps 4R On the Burner in happier times |
I noticed the back of the tandem was squatted right down yesterday morning. Most unusual.
Fetching the shock pump revealed that the venerable Alps 4R had lost all pressure. A few strokes later and it was obvious it was never going to hold any again. Almost as fast as I pumped I could hear air leaking out of the shock body.
Bugger.
I’d like to keep it purely because it’s the shock that the tandem came with. If we can get the parts at least Sideways Cycles have offered to have a go at servicing it, which is more than can be said for Mojo or TF Tuned.
Failing that, what platform shock for a tandem?

Might be worth asking CVI if they can have a look at it?
