Genesis 2.0
I’ve been rather harsh in the past about the handling of Fishers.
Seeing as they are about as responsive as oil tankers on downers I think I was pretty fair.
Looks like someone at Trek finally realised that Genesis 1.0 wasn’t all it was cracked up to be either.
Enter stage left Genesis 2.0.
Not that Gary had time to sort it out. He’s too busy looking smug whilst surrounded by underprivileged hispanic kids in Dirt Rag, or designing new shirts with Paul Smith.
No, they called in a proper engineer. Keith Bontrager. Their takeover of that brand doesn’t look so stupid now.
The good news is that the changes are only to the fork geometry so those unfortunates stuck with Genesis 1.0 can finally upgrade to proper handling. I’m not sure how they’ll cope. Singletrack will be a revelation.
The bad news is that the changes are only to the fork geometry and Keith hasn’t done anything about the silly short headtubes and general lack of weld area between top/down/head tubes. Still, Fisher have a reputation for standing by their warranty.
Presumably the Genesis 2.0 forks will also be available in 29er versions so those custom gayer riders who foolishly copied Fishers 29er geometry will finally be able to enjoy their bikes handling. Finally they’ll be able to stop feeling so foolish at spending so much money on bike that handled so badly.
Imagine having the choice of rolling over stuff or steering round it!
Those who use the Fisher 29ers propensity to straightline everything as a skill-compensator need not apply.

Genesis 2.0 - twice as dull…
