Overheard…
The best products are made by people that have a passion for them. Gary Fisher has a passion for 29ers.
After riding a Rig I can only conclude that Gary Fisher really fucking hates singlespeeds and singlespeeders.
Maybe that time I caught him on the final downhill at Mayhem 2003 on my diddy wheels upset him?
Update: Kirsty pointed out to me that Gary Fisher is evidence that passion for a product is no guarantee that you’ll make the best. Passion is not a substitute for skill in bike design.

Please contact me re tandem 29″. I have had one built specifically as such now for two seasons and may be able to shed a bit of light, at least what has worked for us.

Gary Fisher is strange… his cock pit design with itty short stems and stuff is weird… he loves the shit but i’d wager his involvement with the design is about picking the font that his name will be on the down tube…
the Trek folks do the work on that… and when your company puts most of the R&D into OCLV… buying Aluminum R&D from Klein and Steel R&D from Keith Bontrager leaving zippo for GF other than name… kinda like those lemonds…
Fisher’s a strange dude…. run across him at many a CABDA back in the day…

GF’s cockpit design really is out of date. I always though genesis geometry was about long top-tube short stem, but these days it seems to be same length top tube as anyone else, and still with a short stem.
Don’t ask me for the numbers on the Yates - I only get a measuring tape out if something feels funny/wrong.
