   Hello all,

   one of my colleagues just brought this to my attention, I’ve had a direct email from this poster which I’ve allready replied to, I never look at this forum normally, I’ll let him publish my reply, but in summary, let me make this clear:

   We have never and will never use this illegal practice on ebay, the ebay member mentioned lives in KINGSTON UPON THAMES and has succesfully made purchases from us, I’ve sent this poster a screenshot from our sales system and our archived ebay transactions. Any of you that actually KNOW SJS Cycles will be aware that we’ve traded honorably and legally for the past 22 years. So if anyone has any false claims of this nature to make, please call me directly on 01278-441522 or visit us in Bridgwater I’d be delighted to meet you face to face.

   In the meantime, stop looking at your computer for hours on end and GET ON YOUR BIKE!

   I’ve removed his name and email address as you can see he has some concerns.

   I’ve asked him if i might use his mail, and i’ve also copied that reply at the bottom.

   I do see WHY you came to your conclusions but would appreciate it IF you now beleive what i’ve told you that you publish a suitable retraction.

   Robin,

   Thanks for including me via bcc on your reply to Nick Wallis, I was stunned when I read it. Considering all the crime that is associated with the Internet it comes as a shock to discover that my efforts to obtain a few cycling related items at a discount for myself and my family are being monitored by some self-appointed pro-LBS crusader.

   I will not be contacting him personally , either by email or through his blog, as to do so would reveal more about me than he knows already, and I fear that might lead to serious consequences.

   Clearly the guy has an obsessive nature. I sometimes question the amount of time I spend on the web, but monitoring other people’s Ebay bidding patterns in the way that he has would seem to indicate the need for psychiatric attention. It would appear that he has started out from a position of hating online retailers like SJSC and has employed sophisticated and time consuming methods of bid analysis in order to point a finger at you. In a manner typical of witch hunts, he has chosen to ignore any aspects of my bidding which do not support his chosen conclusion.

   It’s a pity you felt the need to reveal my location , but presumably you did so to emphasise that I was not part of your organisation.
   A shame also, that a member of your staff caused Wallis to believe that maglialana was one of your employees. I wonder how Wallis pronounced maglialana, and what your employee thought he was being asked.

   I am impressed by the restraint that you have shown in your replies to him, in both your email and direct to his blog. He has referred to your ‘weasel actions’ , he has publicly referred to your company as ’sharks’ , he has reported you to Ebay and he invites his disciples to join in the harassment and to make you ’squirm’. One of them has already indicated that he too has complained to Ebay. Maybe you are accustomed to dealing with such people and know the best way to treat them.

   I have contacted Ebay to encourage them to put this matter straight. I look forward to seeing Wallis’ public retraction , but more in hope than expectation.

   Feel free to quote my previous email, but I am not convinced it will do any good..

   I don’t think that Wallis and his followers will believe you, whatever you say to them. The flock seem only too ready to use terms like ‘arrogant git’ and ‘bunch of idiots’ to describe you and your company.

   I don’t think that Wallis will believe Ebay when they get back to him refuting his claims as they hopefully soon will. He will probably just take the matter as not proven.

   However, I will watch with interest

   I must say that though I first stuck up for SJS as being unlikely shillers (elsehwere), I did suggest maglialana and his SJS obsession looked very much like shilling. Right or wrong Robin, your tone comes across as rude.

   That’s as maybe, but at the end of the day he was in the right.

   I think the lesson to be learned here is for those of us who misinterpreted the evidence. SJS didn’t help by confirming that magliana was one of their accounts in a phone call, but I can see that they maybe understood me to mean sales account not ebay account.
