Unhappy Anniversary

Fan
Fan

It’s a year now since the theft of my Maverick, Fan. She was taken, along with the roofrack she was locked to, from the roof of our car.

The thieves didn’t get away with the front wheel - which now serves duty on one of my singlespeeds.

Turns out that there’s now one other legitimate real-tree camo Maverick out there, so any sightings are probably of that. Of course that is if Fan hasn’t been resprayed with Hammerite, or just stripped for parts and dumped in the Calder Navigation.

If there’s one good thing to come out of the loss it taught me that the suspension set-up of my Turner Burner was way too hard and inactive.

If by chance you do see her, check the serial number details on the headbadge (click the thumbnail above for a larger view), and ring the plod on 0845 6060606 quoting crime number FA04/6711.

Actually we‚re lying about the Maverick since some low-life stole it.

A dogs dinner of links to stuff that we have arranged in an apparently random manner, though I assure you it made sense at the time.

For all that we like the up-to-the minute offerings of the web there‚s nothing like a proper badly photocopied A5 fanzine or a glossily printed proper magazine to keep you occupied on the throne. Here, in no particular order, is our material of choice.
