The Flesh is Willing but the Spirit is Weak

Yesterdays intervals hurt real bad.

Mentally I’m struggling to get back into the frame of mind needed just to keep spinning away and ignore the ache in my legs.

A couple minutes into interval one, and not coincidentally as I hit my level 3 threshold, I have the urge to give up. Why subject myself to this? Because it’s the mindset that I need to redevelop in order to keep going at three o’clock in the morning.

But I didn’t give up. And by the time I finished they weren’t overall too bad considering the lay-off I’ve had - they’re near the bottom of the curve but getting better.

make the most of it Nick, I’m seriously worried now, been 3 weeks off the bike and the dioc says its on my chest now, looking like another 2 to 3 weeks off, that leaves about 10 weeks to get into shape, not including the other enduro’s I’ve entered to try to give me some racing miles :(

24 hours is mental as much as physical steve, you’ll be right.
