No Fault Found
After taking three months to do all my heart tests, then keeping me waiting for a month to give me a consultant appointment, then postponing it for three weeks, then keeping me waiting for an hour or two while they locate some of the results, the Consultant, has read the file and declared that my heart problems are…
… no fault found.
Apparently I have a functional problem that does not have any underlying pathological cause. In other words there’s a problem, but not one they can see any cause for.
I’ve been told that it’s unlikely to be life threatening and I should just live with it.
I specifically asked if this means pushing 160bpm for 24 hours and was told that I should be OK.
I can’t say that I’m too confident in the diagnosis, seeing as it was fairly obvious the doctor was only looking at the results for the first time during the 5 minutes I was in with him. But hey! I can now officially ride as hard as I like. And drive too.
And I’d just like to point out that I’m not criticising the NHS here. I’m just telling it as I saw it.
Kirsty was overcome with relief. Which I hadn’t expected but should have. Shows how little I understand women. Doh!
Anyway, as stevem asked me, what’s my next excuse for always lagging at the back of the group?
