It’s Singlespeed FFS

Some jerk was posting ona forum today about running two rear sprockets with some gash home made spacer and asking what he could use to switchy between them and still get tension.

FFS!!

Either it’s singlespeed or it’s not.

And if it’s not just go the whole hog and slap a full 9 speed block on the back, a handy thing for maintaining tension in any of them, and how about a handy handlebar control for switching between them on the move.

I love my singlespeeds. Heck, I have three and I’m not unknown to sneak a ride on my wifes. I’ll admit it’s totally impractical sometimes. Which is why I’ve got a Turner and a Yates.

But this gash faux-singlespeed reliving of pseudo-thirties shonky mechanisms choosing betweeen two impractical ratios is a half-way house too far.

Don’t let me catch you. Or I’ll beat you to death with your own chain tensioner.
